Internal Family System (IFS)
IFS is a Therapeutic approach that involves viewing your trauma through a "parts" lens or sub-personalities lens. The adult-self: anger, shame, people pleaser, over-achiever, numb, food-restricter, substance user, etc. are all considered "parts." This approach is particularly useful for those with obsessive-compulsive disorders (substance use, eating disorders, hoarding, trichotillomania, CPTSD, etc.). The theory behind IFS is that once compassion for all of the parts is achieved, the parts will relax and allow the adult-self (healthy self) to naturally emerge..
